Navigating Velosiq
The sidebar
The left sidebar is your main navigation: Dashboard, Clients, Invoices and — depending on your plan — Calendar, Proposals, Projects, Products, Expenses, Assets and Analytics. On phones it collapses into a menu button, with a bottom bar giving one-tap access to the essentials.
Your plan determines which sections appear. If something you want is not visible, it is available on a higher plan — see choosing your plan. Sections are hidden rather than shown-and-locked, so the sidebar stays honest about what you can actually use.
The dashboard
Your home screen is built around what needs attention today rather than around totals:
- Needs Attention cards — overdue invoices, current projects, proposals awaiting a response, and warranties expiring within 30 days. Each links straight to the relevant list.
- Upcoming Appointments — today's schedule, with a heads-up count for tomorrow.
- Revenue Overview — a chart of money actually collected, with Daily, Weekly and Monthly views.
- Recent Activity — your latest invoices at a glance.
If you open Velosiq once a day, this is the screen to open it on. The Needs Attention cards are the closest thing to a to-do list the app has, and they are generated from real state rather than from anything you have to maintain.
Global search
The search box in the top bar — a magnifier icon on phones — searches your clients, invoices and assets as you type: names, emails, phone numbers, invoice numbers, serial numbers.
Type at least two characters, move through results with the arrow keys, and press Enter to open one. It is usually faster than navigating to a list and filtering it, particularly for "what was that invoice number?" when a client is on the phone.
Notifications
The bell icon shows in-app notifications — invoice status changes and warranty alerts — with an unread badge. See notifications for choosing what you are told about, and emails from Velosiq for what arrives in your inbox rather than the bell.
Settings
Every tenant-facing setting lives under Settings, organised into tabs — your business profile, clients, invoicing, email templates, team and activity. If you are hunting for a preference, it is in one of those tabs rather than scattered through the app.
Your user menu
Click your avatar in the top right for quick links to Settings and Manage Subscription, plus:
- Appearance — switch between Light, Dark and Auto, which follows your device
- Log Out
Appearance affects your view only. What your clients see — invoices, proposals, the portal — always renders in a light theme regardless of your setting, so a dark-mode preference never changes the document a client receives.
Help, anytime
The ? icon in the top bar opens this Help Center in a new tab, so you never lose your place in the app.
