Getting Paid

Record payments, accept cards, and automate reminders

Sending an invoice is half the job. This section covers the other half: getting the money in and recording it accurately.

Velosiq connects to your own Stripe account — you connect Stripe once, and payments go from your client to your bank. Velosiq never holds the funds and takes no cut of them; you pay Stripe's normal processing fees and nothing on top. From there you can charge a card directly on an invoice or let the client pay themselves through Stripe checkout.

Not every payment arrives by card, so recording a payment covers cash, cheque and bank transfer too. Partial payments are first-class: take a deposit now and the balance later against the same invoice, and each part counts toward your revenue on the day it actually cleared rather than when the invoice is finally settled. That matters if you take retainers, because a month with six deposits in it should look like one.

For anything that goes past its due date, automatic reminder emails do the chasing on a schedule you set.
